Hate me if you must, but I have got to say it – I am getting sick of April's poor, poor pitiful me routine.

I miss the 2k3 April who was independent and strong, who was more of a help than a hindrance, who fought right alongside the guys and understood what they went through and how dangerous their lives were.  Unlike the 80's April, 2k3 April didn't have to be rescued every time she stepped outside.

The 2k12 April has been with the guys long enough to know how outnumbered and outgunned they are in a fight.  They have saved her butt any number of times and Don risked his life keeping his promise to rescue her dad.

In the season finale, Leo almost got his ass waxed twice going after the Kraang, the second time they all thought he was dead.  All to save April.  She knows there are things that they can't always control, she knows accidents happen when you're trying to dodge a big frikin' killing machine that's trying to gun you down.

Does she bother to listen to the complete story?  No, she goes hormonal and starts screaming at the four guys who've been saving the world left and right, and then runs off.  Boo hoo hoo! (spoiled brat)

I understand she is upset that her dad got turned into a giant bat thingy, but the Turtles didn't do it on purpose.  If she really cared about him and wasn't just feeling sorry for herself, she'd realize that the guys are her best chance to save her dad.

Let's not forget how she put their dad at risk by disobeying Master Splinter and wandering off to get herself captured by Shredder.  Splinter went into the heart of Shredder's stronghold, into what he knew was a trap, just to save April.  If he had been killed, what would April have said to the guys?

Sorry, it was an accident?

Dude, I agree. I mean come on! I get that she's 'human' and like all other humans she needs to be saved by the boys, but when season 2 came out, and she basically has put everything that the boys have done for her and said screw it, and to leave her alone like a brat. I was pretty mad, I get that she would be mad, but really? That dramatic? She clearly saw the canister of mutagen falling towards her, and she just stands there like 'Oh no! What shall I do? Wait for it to hit me?' While her dad sees it from 10 feet away and he has enough time to run over there and push her out of the way while she's still staring at it... Really?

I grew up basically around the 2k3 series, where April can help out and also kick a**.  When I see that a new show comes out, it's like ok ill bite, I'm going to watch it. Afterwards it like :D, but I also I noticed all the character changes. I can see that Mikey is the comic relief, but sometimes nick takes it too far. But if you squint, you can still see some of the old Mikey there too, like in Baxter's Gambit (I think it's that one...) where he is genuinely worried about Raphael, but I could be reaching... I think they have made everyone a little  less serious, even Splinter, but that is also somewhat of a good thing (I think). A I also love that Splinter can and will kick some a**, not that 2k3 Splinter didn't. 2k12 Splinter I think has a more fatherly figure role (once again, not that 2k3 Splinter didn't either), but also mixed, in with the serious teacher role.

So yea, that's my sorta rant, cause I try to look at the positive in everything... :)
